Guesty alternative

A Guesty alternative that isn't an implementation project.

Guesty is enterprise property-management software, and it is good at being that. If you run 5 to 50 villas, most of what you are paying for is machinery you will never switch on — while the part you need every single day, someone answering guests and getting work done, is the part you are still doing yourself.

The problem

The mismatch at 5–50 villas

You buy a platform, you get a project

Onboarding calls, implementation fees, a configuration phase. Weeks before the thing you bought does anything, and a sales cycle before you can even try it.

Per-listing plus a slice of every reservation

Percentage pricing takes more the better your year goes. A flat cost per villa is a cost; a percentage is a partner you did not ask for.

It manages properties. It doesn't do the work.

Reservations, rates and reporting are handled. The 2am question, the towel request, the cleaner who needs telling — those are still yours.

How it works

What you get instead

01
Sign up and add one villa

No demo call, no sales qualification, no implementation fee. A guided setup takes your house rules, message examples, staff contacts and escalation rules.

02
The agent starts in Draft mode

It writes every guest reply and you approve each one, so you can watch it work on real guests without any risk. Promote it to Assisted, then Autopilot, when it has earned it.

03
Requests become your team's work

Each request gets an owner, a due time and photo proof. Staff work in their own language on their phone; you see the board and the SLA.

04
Keep the PMS if you have one

Two-way iCal and the native Hostaway connector mean Hostella sits on top of whatever you already run. Your existing system stays the system of record.

What you get

Where Hostella is the better fit

Priced per villa, flat

$24 per villa a month, $18 from villa 101, plus $69/month for your personal assistant. No implementation fee, no per-reservation percentage, no message caps.

An agent, not an admin panel

It answers guests in their language around the clock, opens the tasks, chases the SLA, and escalates only what genuinely needs you.

Self check-in with ID capture

Guests scan one QR, fill in their details, photograph a passport for each person in the room, and get assigned a unit — the documents come to you by email for registration.

Owner statements and a personal assistant

Per-owner statements for the villas you manage for other people, plus an assistant that gives you a morning brief and answers questions about the whole portfolio.

Running hundreds of units with a revenue-management team and a full accounting stack? Guesty is probably right and we will say so. Here is the honest line-by-line.

Hostella vs Guesty
FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Hostella a full property management system?

No, and it is not trying to be. There is no revenue-management engine, no full accounting suite, and no channel manager pushing rates back to the OTAs. It is the guest and operations layer: answering, dispatching, checking in, and keeping one calendar honest. Operators who need a full PMS keep theirs and run Hostella on top.

Who is it actually built for?

Operators running roughly 5 to 50 villas or boutique units, often across more than one property and more than one language, where the founder or a small team is still personally answering guests.

Do I have to leave Guesty to try it?

No. Point a two-way iCal feed at Hostella and it runs in parallel — same reservations, same calendar, nothing migrated. Most operators trial it on one or two villas first.

Is there an implementation fee or a minimum term?

Neither. It is self-serve, month to month, and the trial needs no card. The price is the price on the pricing page.

What about my accounting and owner payouts?

Hostella produces per-owner statements for the villas you manage on someone else's behalf. It is not a general ledger — if you run full accounting today, keep it.
